I have painted from childhood and have used a variety of media: watercolour, oils, pastels, gouache and acrylic. Although professionally I was a family doctor and medical teacher in Canterbury for over 35years and was latterly GP Regional Adviser to SE Thames and GP Sub-Dean for Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals seconded to the University of Kent at Canterbury, art has always been my first love. So after I retired from my practice I started to concentrate on painting, focussing exclusively on watercolours. I began to paint in this medium seriously in 1994 and I considered the first 10 years of doing so a learning process for the development of my craft.I became an elected member of the East Kent Art Society in 1998
and since 2006 have been its Treasurer. My professional career effectively began in 2005 and since then it has slowly taken off, sales accelerating rapidly in the past four years. The following is a brief resume of my progress.
